Delta-9 Tinctures

Multi-cannabinoid tincture formulas built for targeted relief. CO2 extracted, small batch crafted, and made with locally sourced hemp. Every bottle is third-party lab tested with a COA posted directly on the product page. Not all tinctures are built the same these are built to work.

Why JustKana's Delta-9 Tinctures Are Different

Most Delta-9 tinctures on the market are remarkably similar they rely on the same predictable combination of CBD isolate, a legal trace of THC, and a carrier oil. This 'single-lane' formulation ignores the complexity of the human endocannabinoid system. We’ve moved past the 'one cannabinoid, one job' era to focus on targeted, multi-cannabinoid synergy that actually moves the needle.

We build ours differently. JustKana's delta-9 tinctures are multi-cannabinoid formulas that combine CBD, CBC, and hemp-derived Delta-9 THC at intentional ratios  paired with botanical terpenes selected to match each formula's purpose. The result is a tincture that engages your endocannabinoid system through five distinct receptor pathways instead of one or two.

That matters because single-cannabinoid products leave most of your endocannabinoid system untouched. CBD works through serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and TRPV1 channels. CBC activates TRPA1 ion channels and CB2 receptors. Low-dose THC engages CB1. β-Caryophyllene adds additional CB2 activity. Each ingredient covers ground the others can't  and together, they produce what researchers call the entourage effect.

How We Make Our Tinctures

CO2 Extraction.

We use supercritical CO2 extraction the cleanest method available for pulling cannabinoids and terpenes from hemp without the use of harsh chemical solvents. CO2 extraction preserves the full-spectrum cannabinoid and terpene profile of the plant while leaving behind no solvent residue. It's more expensive and more time-consuming than ethanol or hydrocarbon extraction. We use it because it produces a cleaner, more complete extract.

Small Batch Production.

Our tinctures are produced in small batches  not mass-manufactured on an industrial line. Small batch production gives us tighter control over cannabinoid ratios, terpene consistency, and overall quality from run to run. When a formula calls for 1,000mg of CBD, 300mg of CBC, and 150mg of Delta-9 THC per bottle, precision matters. You can't dial that in at scale the way you can in a controlled, small batch environment.

Locally Sourced Oregon Hemp.

Our hemp is sourced from local farms in Oregon  one of the longest-established and most tightly regulated hemp-growing regions in the country. Oregon's climate, soil conditions, and agricultural standards produce some of the highest-quality hemp available. We know where our plants come from, how they're grown, and what's in them before extraction even begins.

Third-Party Lab Tested.

What Makes CBC the Ingredient Worth Knowing About

CBC (cannabichromene) is the cannabinoid most brands skip  not because it doesn't work, but because the industry hasn't caught up to the research yet.

In early studies, CBC outperformed a conventional NSAID for inflammation. It reduced pain across three different models inflammatory, neuropathic, and thermal. It inhibits the reuptake of anandamide, your body's own pain and mood regulator, keeping more of it active in your system for longer. And it's the only cannabinoid shown to support the growth of new neural stem cells.

CBC targets inflammation and pain through TRPA1 channels and NF-κB suppression  pathways that CBD and THC don't strongly activate on their own. That's why we include 300mg per bottle in our mood tincture. It's not filler. It's the ingredient that makes this formula hit differently.

Low-Dose Delta-9 THC  Functional, Not Recreational

Every delta-9 tincture in our collection uses hemp-derived THC at doses designed for daily function  not intoxication. Our mood tincture delivers 5mg of Delta-9 THC per serving, which clinical research consistently identifies as the range for stress reduction and mood support without cognitive impairment.

CBD buffers the THC experience by acting as a negative allosteric modulator of the CB1 receptor  physically limiting how strongly THC can activate it. The result is calm without fog, mood support without paranoia, and relief without the couch.

What to Look for in a Delta-9 Tincture

Whether you're shopping with us or comparing brands, here's what separates a serious delta-9 tincture from a label play:

  • Clean extraction. CO2 extraction preserves the full cannabinoid and terpene profile without solvent residue. If a brand doesn't tell you how they extract, there's usually a reason.
  • Clinically relevant doses. A tincture with 5mg of CBD per serving isn't doing much. Look for per-serving cannabinoid content that matches what published research has actually studied.
  • More than one cannabinoid. Single-cannabinoid tinctures only engage one or two receptor pathways. Multi-cannabinoid formulas produce broader effects at lower individual doses  and the research backs this up.
  • Named terpenes, not just "terpene blend." If a brand can't tell you which terpenes are in the bottle and why they chose them, they probably don't know either.
  • Quality carrier oil. MCT oil enhances cannabinoid bioavailability your body absorbs more per serving compared to lower-quality carriers. Sublingual delivery (holding under the tongue for 60–90 seconds) can roughly double absorption by bypassing first-pass liver metabolism.

How to Use a Delta-9 Tincture

  • Place one full dropper (1mL) under your tongue. Hold for 60–90 seconds, then swallow. Effects typically begin within 15–45 minutes sublingually, or 45–90 minutes if swallowed directly.
  • New to THC tinctures? Start with a half dropper and wait at least 45 minutes before adjusting. Everyone's endocannabinoid system responds differently so finding your dose is part of the process.
  • Store in a cool, dark place. No refrigeration required.

Everything You Need to Know About Delta-9 Tinctures

Will a delta-9 tincture get me high?

At the doses in our formulas (5mg THC per serving), most people experience mild relaxation and mood support  not a traditional high. The CBD in our formulas buffers THC's psychoactive effects, keeping the experience smooth and functional. If you're new to THC, start with a half dropper (2.5mg) and wait 45–60 minutes.

What does a delta-9 tincture feel like?

Most people describe it as a gentle wave of calm tension in the body loosens, mental chatter quiets down, and your mood lifts slightly without feeling altered or impaired. At 5mg THC buffered by 33mg CBD, the experience is functional. You can hold a conversation, finish your work, or go about your evening without fog or couch-lock. It's closer to "taking the edge off" than anything resembling a traditional cannabis high.

Does Delta-9 show up on drug tests?

Yes. Hemp-derived Delta-9 THC is chemically identical to THC from marijuana, and standard drug tests do not distinguish between the two. If you are subject to drug testing for employment or any other reason, you should not use this product. This applies to all THC-containing products regardless of the source or dose.

Can tinctures cause anxiety?

THC can cause anxiety but dose and formulation matter enormously. High-dose THC activates CB1 receptors on inhibitory GABA neurons, which can suppress your brain's natural calming system and trigger anxious feelings. At 5mg per serving, our formula stays well within the range where clinical research shows calming effects, not anxious ones. The CBD in the formula acts as a negative allosteric modulator of CB1, physically limiting how strongly THC can activate it. And the d-limonene in our terpene blend was shown in a 2024 Johns Hopkins clinical trial to dose-dependently reduce THC-induced anxiety. This formula was specifically designed to prevent the anxiety response, not produce it.

Is it safe to take Delta-9 every day?

Current research has not identified significant safety concerns with daily low-dose THC use in healthy adults, and many people use cannabinoid tinctures as part of a daily wellness routine. That said, long-term clinical data on daily hemp-derived THC use is still limited. If you have underlying health conditions or take prescription medications particularly those metabolized by the liver's cytochrome P450 enzyme system consult your healthcare provider before establishing a daily regimen.

Is Delta-9 bad for your liver?

At the low doses in our tinctures (5mg THC per serving), there is no established clinical evidence of liver harm in healthy adults. High-dose CBD (not THC) has shown liver enzyme elevations in some clinical trials, but those studies used pharmaceutical-grade doses of 10–20mg per kilogram of body weight  far beyond what any consumer tincture delivers. If you have a pre-existing liver condition or take medications processed by the liver, consult your healthcare provider before use.

How long does Delta-9 stay in your system?

THC can remain detectable in your system well beyond when you stop feeling effects. For occasional users, THC metabolites may be detectable in urine for 3-5 days. For regular daily users, detection windows can extend to 15–30+ days depending on metabolism, body composition, hydration, and testing sensitivity. If drug testing is a concern for you, this product may not be appropriate regardless of how low the per-serving dose is.

How long does a delta-9 tincture take to kick in?

Sublingual (under the tongue for 60-90 seconds): effects typically begin within 15-45 minutes. Swallowed directly: 45-90 minutes as it passes through digestion. Onset time varies by individual based on metabolism, body weight, and whether you've eaten recently. Sublingual delivery is faster because cannabinoids absorb directly through the mucous membranes into the bloodstream, partially bypassing liver metabolism.

Is tincture stronger than edibles?

Not necessarily stronger, but different. Tinctures taken sublingually absorb faster and more predictably than edibles because they partially bypass the digestive system. Edibles must pass through the liver, where THC is converted to 11-hydroxy-THC  a metabolite that's actually more potent and longer-lasting than Delta-9 THC itself. That's why edibles can feel stronger and less controllable. Tinctures give you a faster onset, a more predictable experience, and easier dose control  which is why many people prefer them for daily use, especially at lower doses.

Which is better - gummies or tincture?

It depends on what you're after. Tinctures offer faster onset (15-45 minutes vs. 45-90 for gummies), more precise dosing (you can take a quarter dropper if you want), and sublingual absorption that bypasses first-pass liver metabolism. Gummies offer convenience, longer-lasting effects, and a tastier experience. For daily pain and inflammation support where consistent dosing matters, tinctures give you more control. For longer-lasting relief or on-the-go convenience, gummies work well. Many of our customers use both a tincture as their daily baseline and gummies when they need extended relief or are traveling.

Are edibles or tinctures better for sleep?

Both can support sleep, but they work on different timelines. Tinctures kick in faster and may help you fall asleep sooner. Gummies take longer to onset but tend to produce longer-lasting effects, which may help you stay asleep through the night. If falling asleep is the issue, a sublingual tincture before bed may be more effective. If staying asleep is the issue, a gummy taken 60–90 minutes before bed may work better. Some customers combine both.

Is Delta-9 safer than Delta-8?

Delta-9 THC is the most studied cannabinoid in existence decades of clinical research have established its effects, safety profile, and dose-response characteristics. Delta-8 THC has far less published research, and many Delta-8 products on the market are synthesized from CBD through chemical conversion processes that can produce unknown byproducts if not properly purified. Our Delta-9 tinctures use naturally occurring, hemp-derived Delta-9 THC extracted via supercritical CO2 no chemical conversion, no synthetic processing.

Are tinctures safe to consume?

Yes  when they come from a reputable source with transparent testing. Our tinctures are CO2 extracted from locally sourced Oregon hemp, produced in small batches, and independently third-party tested. The COA for every batch is posted directly on the product page. The carrier oil is organic MCT derived from coconut, and all terpenes are botanical-grade. No artificial colors, flavors, or cutting agents.

Can you fly with a Delta-9 tincture?

Hemp-derived products containing less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, and TSA has stated they do not specifically search for cannabis products. However, TSA defers to local law enforcement if a product is discovered, and state laws vary. If you're flying between states with different hemp regulations, there is some legal gray area. We recommend researching the laws of both your departure and destination states before traveling with any THC-containing product.

Do you swallow a tincture or spit it out?

Swallow it. Place one full dropper under your tongue, hold for 60–90 seconds to allow sublingual absorption, then swallow the remainder. The hold time allows cannabinoids to absorb directly through the mucous membranes into your bloodstream. Whatever you swallow still gets absorbed through digestion  it just takes longer. Never spit it out unless you're trying to reduce your dose.

What extraction method do you use?

Supercritical CO2 extraction the cleanest method available. It preserves the full-spectrum cannabinoid and terpene profile without chemical solvents or residue.

Where does your hemp come from?

Locally sourced from farms in Oregon one of the most established and regulated hemp-growing regions in the U.S.

What is CBC and why is it in your tinctures?

CBC (cannabichromene) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid with strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. In early research, it outperformed a conventional NSAID for inflammation and reduced pain across three different models. It works through TRPA1 channels and NF-κB suppression  receptor pathways that CBD and THC don't strongly activate. Most brands don't include it. We do because the research supports it and our customers are looking for serious relief.

Are your tinctures made in large quantities?

No. We produce in small batches for tighter quality control over cannabinoid ratios, terpene consistency, and overall formulation accuracy.

Yes. All of our tinctures are derived from hemp and contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight, making them compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill. State laws vary check your local regulations before purchasing.

Can I take this with other supplements or medications?

Cannabinoids can interact with certain medications, particularly those metabolized by the liver's cytochrome P450 enzyme system. If you're on prescription medication, consult your healthcare provider before use.

How should I store my tincture?

Cool, dark place. No refrigeration required, but avoid prolonged heat or direct sunlight. Shelf-stable for 12+ months when stored properly.

Are you at least 21 years of age?
